When asked about measuring the efficacy of violence interrupters (CVIs), Johnson replied CVIs were so effective, they deserved a raise. Johnson then said millionaires should be taxed to provide CVI’s wage boost. Unsurprisingly, Johnson’s false claim about CVIs was met with a round of applause by his gullible supporters. If CVIs are so useful, why have they failed to halt a single mass shooting in Chicago in 2026?
